As you know, the real estate market tends to slow down a bit when the snow starts to fly here in Northeast Wisconsin. That doesn’t mean it stops, but we do tend to have fewer buyers in our market, so sellers are anxious to get their homes sold now.
In order to get yourself top dollar in the quickest amount of time, I’m going to share with you three tips that I have to get that home sold before winter.
Make sure your home is pleasing to the eye. On the exterior of the home, you’ll want to make sure it matches the season. On the interior, make sure you have a neutral, clean, decluttered palette.
The smell of your home should be neutral. Don’t put too much fragrance in your home; that gives the impression that you’re covering something up. Also, be aware of any pet odors, smoke smells, or any other odors that might inhibit the sale of your home.
Make sure that your home is priced correctly—this is very important. If you’ve had your home on the market for an extended period of time, you may have had your market analysis done months ago, which may no longer be accurate. You may want to update that market evaluation. Or, you might just now be putting your house on the market, in which case, now is the right time to have your home evaluated so we can hit the bullseye on the target price.
